Looking for Comedians
As you may have seen already we offer an Open Mic Night once a month. Although the nights have mainly encouraged musical acts along there is no reason why we can't have any stand up. In fact, that is exactly what we are looking for!
We have a new idea for the town and as a way to find new talent we decided to start up the Open Mic Night to encourage any act whatever their talent.
So, comedians and the like, we need you too!

Charitable Events
As part of our charity initiative we encourage events that are for good causes, such as fundraising for 'Children in Need' and 'Red Nose Day'. We also had fun last year when one of our customers, Leslie Ashcroft, had her head shaved in the pub in aid of the Lingen Davies Trust, a cancer charity that her family is in need of at present. In total she raised over £4000.00 for the charity and the night concluded with a gallon of beer being auctioned for £150.00.
Poker School
With 'Texas Hold 'Em Poker the new craze sweeping Britain, we are about to introduce a Poker School for beginners and old hands alike on Wednesday nights. If you have little or no knowledge or are a master it doesn't matter, tables will be set up for differing standards of play; no money will change hands and there is no prize for winning. We are simply offering a relaxed atmosphere for you to meet new people, make new friends and learn a new skill!
